Using your UK plastic while you are away is often an expensive way of spending travel money while abroad. Debit and credit card companies typically offer unattractive foreign exchange rates to users overseas, so we really recommend only using these in an emergency.

It is far more preferable to take a Travel Money Currency Card with you, with your normal debit or credit card as an emergency back up option. However, there are one or two providers who offer more reasonable deals while overseas and these are listed below.
